For immediate release
Chengdu, China, 12 Dec 2024: Accsoon today launches a unique fast charger and power solution for Canon camera users. The new TOPRIG BP-A battery plate is a combination fast charger/USB-PD, USB-A and D-tap power distribution plate priced at just $39.99.
It conveniently allows users to use the same Canon BP-A type batteries used to power their C400, C80 or C70 to also power mirrorless cameras, accessories, phones and tablets via USB-PD, USB-A or D-tap connections. Weighing just 49.1g, it conveniently charges batteries and expands power options, while reducing the amount of gear in a camera bag.
Simply connect to PD charger (not supplied) and the TOPRIG BP-A battery plate will rapidly charge a Canon BP-A30 battery in just 78 minutes, and a BP-A60 in just 120 minutes (with 20W USB-PD input). This is around 3 times faster than a typical 5V/1A charger.
The output of the USB-PD port is rated at 30W, giving users an easy way to power most mirrorless cameras including the popular Canon R5 II, R5C and R6 II, and other camera brands like Panasonic and Sony too. It is also a great way to power other USB-PD devices like focus motors, small LED lights, or phones and tablets.
The D-tap output is rated at 60W and is perfect for powering a wide range of professional devices like monitors and wireless transmitters, as well as cinema cameras that have compatible external power inputs. (Note that the output is reduced if used simultaneously with the USB-PD and/or USB-A output.)
There is also a USB-A port that can power a wide range of devices. When the USB-A port is used at the same time as the USB-PD port the output of each is reduced so that the combined output of both ports is not greater than 30W.
The TOPRIG BP-A battery plate attaches to a camera setup via 1/4-20 mounting screw. It has quick release slots so it can be rapidly mounted directly to Accsoon’s PowerCage II for iPad and iPad Pro, creating a nicely integrated Canon BP-A powered monitoring setup.
Also included is a quick release plate that allows the TOPRIG BP-A battery plate to be mounted directly to a camera hot shoe, or under the camera on gimbals. This provides a great way to ensure a gimbal-mounted camera is powered during longer shoots.
Like other Accsoon TOPRIG products the BP-A battery plate is built to last. It has a tough ABS construction with gold-plated battery contacts with a rated lifespan of 8000 insertions. A four dot LED status indicator on the side keeps the user informed of remaining battery life. The charge circuits have short-circuit protection, over-voltage and under-voltage protection, IC overheat protection and battery protection.
A handy USB-C to C charging cable is included to connect the charger to a suitable USB-PD power source.
The Accsoon TOPRIG BP-A battery plate will be available this month from authorized dealers and is priced at $39.99 US.
