Embargo until 13:00 GMT, Tuesday April 11, 2023: Accsoon, makers of the SeeMo HDMI adapter for iOS, today announces a technical partnership with Zacuto, the leading electronic viewfinder (EVF) and rig manufacturer. The advanced EVF solution they are developing together uses hardware from both companies in combination with an iPhone running Accsoon’s SEE app.
Custom versions of the Zacuto Z-finder and Accsoon’s unique SeeMo technologies will be integrated and offer an incredible viewing experience, plus the advanced app features of the Accsoon See app. These include the ability to record HD video, live streaming, custom LUT viewing, image magnification, waveforms and more.
A prototype of the new EVF will be unveiled by both companies at the NAB show in Las Vegas this week.
The system uses an iPhone with an Accsoon SeeMo combined with the custom Zacuto Z-finder and dedicated phone mounting solution. Thanks to the high resolution, accuracy, contrast and fill factor of the iPhone displays, the system delivers incredible images - making viewing and focussing them unbelievably easy.

The Z-finder design deliberately leaves a portion of the iPhone screen exposed to be used as a touch-interface control area. Accsoon are developing a matching custom user interface specifically designed for the Zacuto Z-finder with a viewing area optimised to work with it. Critical functions such as image magnification, waveforms and peaking will be accessible without the user having to remove their eye from the viewfinder. In addition, the solution is being designed to work in both horizontal and portrait orientations, the latter being useful for the growing market for social media video in vertical format.
The physical design of the Z-finder allows it to be rapidly removed if required. A cutout area on the mount allows a MagSafe cooling fan/charger to be installed on the rear of the iPhone if the users require extended operation times.
The system will initially be compatible with the iPhone 14 Pro Max, 14 Pro, 13 Pro Max, 13 Pro, 12 Pro Max and 12 Pro. Additional model compatibility may be added later.
