Gaffers and DPs can now place powerful color tuneable lighting with pinpoint accuracy - all thanks to the dedolight and the Prolycht Orion with Hyperlight color engine.
The family of dedolight lenses for Prolycht Orion RGBACL LED lights
While Prolycht already offers fresnel lenses, diffusers and other modifiers for the Orion LED lights, dedolight’s renowned optics will add new visual capabilities to the most versatile lights in the industry. Dedicated optics for spreading and narrowing the light beams efficiently, plus a new optimized version of the renowned dedolight DP400 projection system, are all available for immediate order for shipping at the end of this month. In addition, owners of some current dedolight DP400 optics can purchase adapters to use them on the Orion lights. All of the new dedolight optics for Prolycht feature Bowens mounts to fit directly to the Orion lights while allowing quick changes in the field with no tools required.
The combination of dedolight lenses and Prolycht RGBACL lighting are especially useful for virtual production and many of the new options can be seen in use in the dedolight video below:
DP 400 projector
The dedolight DP400 projection system known worldwide for its sharp and contrasty optics. It is bright with an even transmission from center to edge and virtually no color fringing. For the Prolycht Orion lights, there are three lenses available in the system: 100mm, 150mm, and 185mm. There are two projector assemblies, one with wide angle optics for use with the 100mm lens, and the other optimized for the longer 150mm and 185mm lenses. The 100mm delivers a beam angle of 34.4 degrees, the 150mm delivers a beam angle of 21 degrees and the 185mm delivers a beam angle of 17 degrees.

Prolycht sell the projectors in kits which includes a lens, an A-sized gobo holder, and all the necessary intermediate mounting parts for use on a Prolycht Orion light.
For wide angle projection with the 100mm lens the kit is DP400KU-WA100-P. For the 150mm lens the kit is DP400KU150-P and for the 185mm lens the kit is DP400KU185-P. As the 150mm and 185mm lenses use the same projector systems, those individual lenses can be purchased to complement a projector kit. There are also 4-way framing shutters and adjustable irises available for the projectors.

For owners of some existing DP400 projectors, adapter housings with new optics can be purchased to replace the original rear section of the projector assemblies. This fits them to and optimises them for the Prolycht Orion lights.
Zoom and Parallel Beam Adapter
The DZOOM-P is a large 5x zoom lens designed to transmit an intense beam across a small area – ideal for reflecting off Lightstream or Lightbridge panels, or pushing into diffusion frames. On the Orion 300 FS the beam angle of the DZOOM-P is 8.5-36 degrees and can reach 81,000 lux (2m@5600K). On the Orion 675 FS the beam range is 6.9-33 degrees and can reach an incredible 99,000 lux (2m@5600K).

If the high intensity of the DZOOM-P isn’t required and a more portable and economical solution is preferred, the DPBA-14-P Parallel Beam Adapter is a compact and lightweight solution, offering a 17 degree beam on the Orion 300 FS with 40,500 lux (2m@5600K) and a 14 degree beam on the Orion 675 FS with 60,500 lux (2m@5600K). Both the DZOOM-P and the DPBA-14-P have removable honeycomb accessory fronts available to block light spill.

Wide Angle Adapter
The DL400WAR-P is a wide angle lens that expands the native beam of the Orion 300 FS to 80 degrees wide with even coverage - matching the native beam angle of the Orion 675 FS. It includes 4-way barndoors with dedolight’s unique multi-axis pivoting hinges. For owners of existing dedolight DLWA400R wide angle adapters, a rear adapter mount DLWAR400-AP is available to convert for use with the Prolycht Orion 300 FS.

About the Orion 675FS and Orion 300 FS
The Orion 675FS and 300 FS LED full spectrum spotlights utilize the industry-leading Prolycht 6-color LED Hyperlight engine (red/green/blue/amber/cyan/lime) to guarantee strong, accurate color output right across the spectrum.
The 675 FS offers 675W of power to rival the output of some older HMIs. It has a color temperature range from 1800K-20,000K with precision control of all color channels throughout. The light has an integrated ballast and an innovative positive locking accessory mount. The Prolycht Chromalink control app allows users access to all functions and lighting effects, plus adds smart features like a real-time color picker that can sample colors using the iPhone or iPad’s camera for matching of practical lights or creating process shots.
The 300 FS offers 300W of power in a compact lamp head with separate ballast. Also compatible with the Chromalink app it has a color temperature range from 2000K-20,000K. It is perfect for lighting setups where a lower weight color lamp head is desirable and integrates perfectly with the new dedolight accessories.
