The new Orion 675 FS Extension Base today joins the suite of dedicated accessories from Prolycht for their industry-leading RGBACL COB light. The metal Extension Base replaces the light’s standard feet, solidly attaching to the bottom of the head using existing screw threads. It then forms a platform on which the Orion 675 FS can rest when placed on the ground.

This clever addition transforms the light into a full studio fixture replacement. Now, when fitted with the fresnel lens, the form factor of the complete Orion 675 FS kit is close to that of a classic studio 2K tungsten fresnel. The combination has a similar size and output while consuming a fraction of the power and generating less heat. All, of course, with the benefit of full color tunability. With the quick-release yoke swung overtop and the 10m power cable wrapped in place, the all-in-one design of the Orion 675 FS is a familiar and comforting sight to any Gaffer.
The lightweight Extension Base adds height to the Orion 675 FS, allowing the light to be stored with its popular fresnel lens and barndoors mounted, keeping them out of contact with the floor. The Extension Base can also be used as a handle and safety tie-off point when rigging.
The accessory comes with both standard and hand-tightening bolts for a permanent or quickly-removable installation. The open frame design allows for easy grip as well as providing excellent ventilation for the lamp.
With the introduction of this combination there has never been a better time to replace old workhorse 1200w HMIs and 2K tungsten fresnels with the Orion 675FS. The Prolycht Orion 675 FS really is the New Standard.
