Prolycht to show most powerful fully color-tunable spotlight in the world at IBC 2022
Previously announced at NAB 2022, the finished Prolycht Orion 675 FS full spectrum RGBACL LED spotlight is now ready to take center stage and claim its position as The New Standard.
At the IBC show in Amsterdam, Prolycht will demonstrate the production version of the Orion 675 FS complete with numerous enhancements born from rigorous testing and user feedback.
New 10” 15-50 degree Fresnel lens
Unveiled at the same time is the final design and specification of the dedicated Fresnel lens attachment for the Orion 675 FS. It will have 15-50 degree adjustable beam angle with a lens measuring 10” diameter. To shape the light it will also be equipped with 8-leaf barndoors. A future accessory motor will allow remote control of the beam adjustment.
The Fresnel attachment gives the Orion 675 FS the ability to surpass the output of a 1200w HMI or 2K tungsten fresnel.
Better color, extended color temperature range
The biggest news is that the light performs incredibly, being even wider range and more accurate than previously announced. Average measures of industry standards include 97 CRI, 95 TLCI, 94 TM-30 and SSI scores of 84 @ 3200K and 74 @ 5600K.
The Orion 675 FS utilizes Prolycht’s industry-leading 6-color LED Hyperlight Color Engine (red/green/blue/amber/cyan/lime) to create a wide color gamut with excellent fidelity and accurate, pleasing skin tone reproduction. The extended color temperature (CCT) range is huge, ranging from 1,800K-20,000K, with precision control of all color channels throughout.
Output is stunning
Some simple comparisons illustrate just how bright the Orion 675 FS is. Set to 5600K, the Orion 675 FS is brighter than a 1200w HMI. At 3200K, the Orion 675 FS surpasses a classic 2000w tungsten fresnel. Compared to other LED fixtures the Orion 675 FS is brighter than some 600w daylight-only lights and is three times brighter than a well known rival RGBACL light.
Brand new ProLock positive locking Bowens type modifier mount
The most obvious physical difference to the previously shown version of the Orion 675 FS is the addition of the new Prolycht ProLock breech-lock positive locking clamp mount. Designed for Bowens type light modifiers the patent pending innovation physically clamps accessories in place, ensuring that all dedicated Prolycht and Dedolight optics and modifiers can be securely attached to the lamp with virtually no play or annoying wobble.

Redesigned curved yoke
The yoke of the Orion 675 FS has been redesigned with a curve to allow for better balancing and larger tilt range when used with heavier modifiers and lenses, like the upcoming custom Zoom and Projection attachments from dedolight. ¼”x20 threaded mounting sockets on the yoke and body of the light allow small accessories or cable management to be easily held in place. The quick-release yoke is also reversible for better weight distribution on the stand when using heavy modifiers.
Improved UI, Bluetooth Mesh control and LumenRadio CRMX
Bluetooth Mesh control in now enabled on the Orion 675 FS, allowing multiple lights to be controlled at the same time via smartphone using the Chromalink app.
The user interface of the Orion 675 FS has been enhanced with a modern, logical graphical layout that is clear and easy to use. Full control of the Orion 675 FS is available through wireless LumenRadio CRMX, Bluetooth Mesh, DMX, ArtNet, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth Mesh or via the controls on the fixture itself.
Updated Hyperlight Color engine offers more precision control
The versatile full spectrum color abilities of the Orion 675 FS set it apart from other products, making it the first true replacement for a host of older fixtures that users are eager to improve upon.
The Hyperlight Color Engine’s HSI mode lets the user dial in hue, saturation and intensity, GEL mode offers more than 330 Lee and Rosco gel equivalents, while x,y mode allows precision repeatable color throughout the CIE1931 spectrum. A Single Color mode provides direct control to each of the six color channels individually. The Source mode includes presets to replicate more than 40 different natural and artificial light sources, while the Effects mode features a variety of multicolor effects, each with adjustable parameters for colors and timing. Users can also load their own presets into the Orion 675 FS.

A lot of work has gone into optimizing the controls to better suit the way gaffers work with color. The ability has been added to make adjustments to common parameters such as saturation and hue using quickly settable offsets. This is especially useful in modes where they would not conventionally be available. For instance, the Orion 675 FS can be set to GEL mode, have a Rosco gel equivalent added to a 3200K base and then the user could decide to add a small amount of green and increase the saturation - all without switching modes or navigating cumbersome submenus.
The latest innovation in COB LED design
The Orion 675 FS RGBACL multi-color Chip on Board (COB) LED utilizes an all-new internal geometrical structure, creating a front surface that is just 40mm across - substantially smaller than most rivals. This design creates sharp shadows with a wide even beam spread and allows the use of a wider variety of Bowens mount accessories.

Huge choice of modifiers including Prolycht and dedolight
As it comes the Orion 675 FS includes two reflector dishes, a 30 degree wide angle and 55 degree standard reflector. Prolycht will also offer the Fresnel, a 60” Soft Dome and a 35” Soft Lantern as optional accessories. Lensed modifiers are also planned from technological partner dedolight in the near future. In addition many third party Bowens mount modifiers are compatible with the Orion 675 FS.

Production ready
The Orion 675 FS is designed with the needs of high-end production in mind, while including the flexibility of modern field production lights. The single-body construction is compact and efficient with no additional ballast. It can setup quickly whether on a stand or hanging from a grid. At 22 pounds, it is lighter than less powerful competing lights and even some lampheads which require separate ballasts.
A high IP rating means that the Orion 675 FS can be used outdoors in inclement weather.
A rolling hardshell case with custom cut foam is available for purchase with the light, or separately. The latching resin case measures 31.7” x 20.6” x 12.7” (806mm x 523mm x 323mm) with telescoping handle retracted. It holds the lamp, plus its two included reflectors and a 10m power cable with space for additional items.
Orion 675 FS shipping imminently
The first batches of the Orion 675 FS have now reached final assembly, testing and inspection. They are due to commence shipping to dealers shortly and reach customers soon after.
